Obituary

Earl William Goodin, born May 12, 1922, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on January 21, 2019. He joins his wife of 69 years, Eunice Belle (Derryberry) Goodin and son Gary Lynn Goodin. He is survived by his two sons, Carl (Jayne) and Doug (Krista) Goodin, and six grandchildren, Heather, Andrew, Hope (Jon Londeen), Sophie, Abby, and Gabe Goodin. Dear brother of Mary Tune and the late Tom Goodin, Irene Foshe, John Goodin, Edna Foshe, Viola Leek, and Ruby Spacek and brother-in-law of Ernest Derryberry, and beloved uncle, great-uncle, cousin, and friend. Earl was born in Summersville, MO, but lived much of his life in Ballwin, MO. Proudly serving in the Army during World War II as a gunner and cook, Earl enjoyed conversing with other veterans and was active in his veterans group. He was able to be a part of the Honor Flight to Washington DC. He was proud of his large garden, growing a variety of vegetables, especially green beans and tomatoes. He loved watching old westerns and Cardinal baseball, having his own nicknames for the players. Earl loved fishing and teaching his grandchildren how to do things such as cutting a watermelon. He loved people well and always had bubblegum in his pocket for the little ones. He enjoyed a rousing game of Rook and would try to stump you with his puzzle games. Earl faithfully served Fenton Church of Christ as an elder, always studying and preaching God's word. In addition to his faith, he will be remembered for his sense of humor. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to a Veterans organization of your choosing
