Dorothy Vickers went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 13, surrounded by her loving family, at Barnes Jewish Hospital, St. Peters. MO. Dorothy was 79 years young, born in Broseley MO. Dorothy is survived by three wonderful daughters, Sue Smith (Lester) of Navarre Beach, FL, Pam Lake (Larry) of Edgerton, OH and Joy Ewing of Cottleville, MO, four step children, Linda Laidlaw Miller of Duncanville, TX, Steven Laidlaw of Sycamore, IL, Sandra Laidlaw Erxleben of St. Louis, MO and Micheal S. Laidlaw (Dee) of Arlington, TX, six loving grandchildren, Michelle (Maurice), Christina, Dean (Natalie), Mary (James), Erica (Brandon) and Caitlin and eight great grandchildren, Austin, Blake, Ryder, A-Lee, Isabelle, Jack, Peyton, and Brocc. Four brothers, Spud Deck of Wappapello, MO, Jackie Deck of Brownstown, IN Gary Deck of Kansas City and Larry Deck of Sedalia, MO, and one sister, Ruby Steed of Hope, Ak. Dorothy is also survived by many nieces, nephews and friends. Dorothy's closets friends are Neal Ewing of Foristell, MO, Tim Lowe of Sedalia, MO, Gail Chandler of St. Louis, MO and Brock Mannings of St. Charles, MO. Dorothy loved to work in the yard and tend to her landscape and garden. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Dorothy was an avid Cardinals fan and was known to go to many games, both in state and out of state. Dorothy was an avid reader and could always recommend a good book to read. Dorothy was married to husbands, Christopher Calvin Dotson, Elmer Vickers and George Laidlaw, who all preceded her in death. Sisters, Frieda Deck, Gerry Hill, Dean Hill and brothers Cloid Deck, Buddy Hill and Junior Hill also preceded her in death. Dorothy was also preceded in death by her very special best friend, William "Bud" Cronin. Dorothy was employed by Famous Barr for thirty two years as a sales representative where she worked until her retirement.
