Obituary

Diane K. Moran 12-27-1952 to 12-31-2021 Diane Moran passed on to heaven on Friday, December 31st. Diane will live on here through the memories, impressions, and love she left behind on all those that met her and knew her. To meet her was to like her, to know her was to love her. She lived her life with an open door both literally and figuratively. The door to Diane's room and to her office were rarely closed and she greeted all she met with a warm smile and a genuine greeting. No matter how stressed out she was nor how miserable she felt she was always able to push it aside and give a smile and a kind word to whomever crossed her path or called her phone. Even people that had never met her, only spoken to her via phone or email couldn't help but speak of her with smiles and warm words. That was just who Diane was. Diane was a generous soul. Even when she was struggling she sought out opportunities to give to others, be it through money, time, or just herself. She volunteered for numerous causes over the years, working at and even running countless events for her church, Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maplewood, as well as donating money and food to their St. Vincent De Paul food pantry at every opportunity. She also gave her time and money to countless other causes over the years. Beyond that though Diane sought to help those that she loved. Whether it was volunteering to help with tasks or take on duties at her various jobs, aiding with events and crises in other's lives, or just being there with a kind word, advice, a shoulder to lean on, or a hug when it was needed. She couldn't wait for Christmas time and the grand festivity of the season, and she never faltered to give gifts to everyone she knew and loved. For many those gifts, those hugs, and those smiles will always be their most cherished memories of Diane. Diane leaves behind a vast array of coworkers, acquaintances, friends, and family all of whom loved her and all of whom she loved. The people in her life were truly the greatest thing in the world to her. Most of all her son Christopher Moran, whom she loved and cherished more than anything in the world. Diane Moran was the dearly loving mother of Christopher Moran, the dearest daughter of Annabelle Moran and the late James A. Moran, the beloved sister of James R. Moran and Catherine Moran, and Sister in Law to Marcia Moran. Niece to Kate Moran. Aunt to Michael Garland, Jamie Jackson, and the late Steven Garland, and Dear Great Aunt to Michael (Cody) Smith, Melanie Micheletto, Jacob Smith, Dylan Smith, Steven Zackary Garland, Mikey Garland, Riley Garland, and Miranda Garland. As well as many other friends and family whom we cannot name but will always remember. Visitation will be held for Diane at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home Maplewood Chapple on Friday, January 7th from 4-8pm. Funeral Mass shall be held at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Maplewood on Saturday, January 8th at 10:00am. Her remains shall be cremated and interred at a later date.
