Derek Ryan Martin

Derek Ryan Martin, a beloved husband, father, son, brother, grandson, nephew, son-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend, left us far too soon at the age of 40. Born in St. Louis, Missouri, on March 16, 1986, Derek spent the last years of his life in Arnold, Missouri. He was a dedicated Dock Manager at All State World Cargo, where his unwavering commitment to his work and colleagues reflected his strong work ethic and dependable character.

Derek married his cherished wife, Christy Martin, on April 16, 2008. Together, they built a loving home filled with laughter, happiness, and treasured memories. He was a devoted father to his two daughters, Shelby and Taylor Martin, and poured his heart into every moment spent with them.

Derek enjoyed riding his side-by-side, spending weekends at the lake, and tending to his beloved plants, especially his banana tree and tomato plants. His vibrant spirit and his habit of calling everyone he met "brother" exemplified his warm, welcoming nature. He had a unique gift for making everyone feel like family.

He is survived by his loving wife, Christy; his daughters, Shelby and Taylor; his mother, Christa (Mike) Patrick; his brothers, Shawn (Lindsay) Martin, Michael Patrick, Keith (Kayla) Patrick; and his cherished grandparents, Joyce (Don) Martin and Mary Patrick.

He is also survived by his wife's family: mother-in-law, Kathy Thebeau; brothers-in-law, Brian (Rachel) Campoy and Steven Jones; and sisters-in-law, Stephanie (Rob) Varner, Stacey (Ryan) Jones, and Tanya (Lukas) Schuchmann.

Derek was preceded in death by his father, Robert Martin, and his step-father-in-law, John Jones Jr.

A celebration of Derek's life will be held at a later date.

In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that memorial contributions be made to a college fund for Derek's beloved daughters, helping to ensure they continue to flourish and pursue their dreams.

Derek's kindness, passion, and love for life will forever remain in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.

He will be remembered for his genuine spirit, generous heart, and the countless lives he touched along the way.

Rest in peace, Derek. You will never be forgotten.
