David Michael Funke, passed away peacefully at Delmar Gardens of Chesterfield on November 23, 2024. He was born on February 6, 1950 to the late Estle and Evelyn Funke. He was preceded in death by his sister Hilda, and is survived by his brother James and sisters, Gloria, Sylvia and Shirley. He was Uncle to Barbara, Shelly, Sharlene, Eric, and Great Uncle to Ella. David spent all of his life in the home he grew up in Brentwood and graduated from Webster Groves high school in 1969. He served 36 years as a clerk in the probate courts in Clayton Missouri until he retired in 2015. He was an avid movie and music lover, and had quite the collection of albums, CDs, cassettes, and movies. He had a great sense of humor, and joined in the laughter and fun at so many family gatherings which he cherished. He had a wonderful voice and entertained all who would listen... nonstop! :) He was very artistic, especially when drawing people and animals. He was incredibly generous to all, especially to his nieces and nephew when it came to Christmas and birthdays. Funeral service on Friday, November 29, 2024 at 11 AM with visitation starting at 10 AM at Jay B Smith funeral home, 777 Oakwood Dr., Fenton MO. 63026. Burial at Sunset Memorial Park, 10180 Gravois Rd., Affton, MO 63123 following. Though he passed from this life into heavens eternity, the love and joy that we all shared will remain in our hearts
