Christopher Michael Thoele, age 59, passed away on April 5, 2026.

He was born on August 11, 1966, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Donald and Sheila Thoele.

Chris was a devoted father, a caring brother, a beloved uncle, and a good friend. He found joy in good stories, whether that was telling them or hearing them. He loved fishing and the peace it brought him as well as the patience it required. He had a deep love for the game of chess and could spend hours playing, discussing possibilities, and loved the excitement and strategy of it all.

Though he was an excited Dallas Cowboys fan, he held a special place in his heart for St. Louis teams like the Blues and the Cardinals and always rooted for Mizzou when it came to NCAA anything. He loved to dive into fantasy worlds like a galaxy far, far away, Hogwarts, and Midgard.

Chirs will be remembered by his passion, the love he shared for his family, and definitely his voice.

He is preceded in death by his father and mother Donald and Sheila (Lucas) Thoele, his niece Tiffanie Thoele, and his nephew, Michael Curling.

He is survived by his daughter, Sara Thoele, his brothers Scott (Patti) Thoele and Kent (Carol) Thoele, and his sister, Gwendolyn Thoele as well as beloved nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held on Thursday, April 9, 2026, from 4:00-7:00 PM, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home in Fenton.

A Funeral Service will begin at 7:00 PM also at the funeral home. Burial will be private.
