Chester Arthur Southard, 75, passed away on July 1, 2024, in Fenton, MO. He was born on August 27, 1948, beloved son of Frank and Mary Brendel Southard. Chester and Carolyn Overmann were United in Marriage on May 24, 1969. Chester is survived by his Loving Wife Carolyn Southard; Children Philip Southard, Scott (Diane) Southard, Julie (John) Warnecke, Douglas (Valerie) Southard; Sister Fran Henson. I wish only to ask that it be expressed that God provided many gifts in my life. Especially, my wife, Carol, my children, grandchildren, great grandchildren, a wonderful extended family and many friends. My joy came from time spent with all of you. Most importantly, the many camping trips with family, well timed cheers at swim meets, parish picnics, soccer games, beach vacations with friends and family, traveling with Carol, time spent on my deck enjoying company, my yard, the birds and grilling, special times spent with my grandchildren and great grandchildren, sending out my "grandpa" jokes and sitting in my recliner watching Fox news. I hope you find peace in knowing that i have shared my life with you and once again with those that have gone before me. Chester is preceded in death by his parents Frank and Mary Brendel Southard; Rita Lewis - sister, Ruth Jordan - sister, Doris Castrogiovanni - sister, Frank Southard - brother Visitation will be Tuesday, July 9, 2024 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Dr. Fenton, MO. 63026. Visitation will resume on Wednesday, July 10, 2024 from 9:00 AM to 10:00AM at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home before departing for Mass. Funeral Mass will take place 10:30 AM, Wednesday, July 10, 2024 at St. Paul Catholic Church, Fenton MO. with Fr. Scott Scheiderer officiating. Interment will take place at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, Jefferson Barracks, MO.
