Catherine Mary Ernst

December 4, 1952 - September 30, 2026

Fortified with the Sacraments of Holy Mother Church, Catherine Mary Ernst (née Scheidt), age 73, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2026.

Born and raised in Maplewood, Missouri, Catherine was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend, who was proud of her German and family heritage. Above all else in life, Catherine prided herself on being a mother and raising her children with unwavering love, guidance, and dedication. Her greatest joy and proudest achievement were her family, and the legacy of her warmth and care lives on through them.

Catherine found happiness in life's simple pleasures - watching Hallmark movies, eating good food and cookie dough ice cream, tackling word searches, reading, and celebrating her favorite holiday, Christmas. She had a special love for animals and dogs, especially her beloved Shih Tzu, Chauncey. Her warmth, gentleness, and quiet strength will be missed by all who knew her.

She is survived by her loving children: Jennifer Wright, Jessica Weick (Zach), and Jonathan Ernst (Brianne). She was a cherished grandmother to her four grandchildren: Jacob Rivera, Madelyn Wright, Micah Ernst, and Jayden Ernst. She is also survived by her brothers Charles Scheidt and Robert Scheidt.

Catherine was preceded in death by her loving parents, Emil Charles and Mary Cecelia Scheidt, her brother James Scheidt, and her sister Dorothy Logan.

Visitation: Sunday, October 4, 2026, from 1:00PM - 3:00PM and Monday, October 5, 2026, from 9:00 AM - 11:00 AM
