Calvin B. Sweeney, Jr., 63, of St. Louis, MO passed away on December 27, 2025. Born on March 7, 1962 to Calvin and Carolyn Sweeney, he was affectionately known as Corkey to family and friends.

Corkey served our country in the United States Air Force and the Missouri Air National Guard.

He was a proud member of his local VFW post and Lions Club.

He is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Dawn, his parents, and his sister, Cynthia.

Corkey was the oldest of 9 siblings and is survived by Cevin Sweeney (Shannon), Christina Feilner (Ray), Colleen Shuler (Henry), Clifford Sweeney, Christopher Sweeney (Shannon), Cathleen Gabler (Jens), and Chantell Ray; stepchildren, Rachel Appie (Jeffrey), David Broome (Kellie), and step grandchildren, Claire Appie, Connor Appie, Jacob Broome. He also had many nieces and nephews.

A celebration of Corkey's life and service with full military honors will be held at 10:30 AM on February 20, 2026 at Jefferson Barracks Memorial Cemetery where both he and his wife, Dawn, will be placed in their final resting place together in columbarium. A Celebration of Life will follow on February 20, 2026, from 4-9pm at Fallon's Bar and Grill (9200 Olive Bld).
