Caesar A. Cantu September 21, 1958 - April 28, 2026 Fenton, Missouri Caesar Anthony Cantu, a resident of Fenton, Missouri, passed away on April 28, 2026, at the age of 67.He was one of eleven children born to Placido G. and Glafira L. Cantu in Alice, Texas.Caesar graduated from Mary Carroll High School, where he obtained his pilot's license prior to his driver's license, and subsequently attended Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University, graduating with a degree in professional aeronautics. He honorably served four years in the U.S. Air Force before transitioning to the Civilian workforce as a Logistics Assistance Representative, a role that facilitated extensive international travel and multiple deployments, including Operations Desert Storm and Desert Shield. Caesar dedicated over 35 years to government service, attaining the highest grade level of GS-15, prior to retiring to join a small business, where he continued to support the U.S. military. He recently retired a second time to commence his golden years.Caesar had a vibrant and multifaceted personality, marked by his passion for life and an enduring dedication to his loved ones. In his younger years, the skies were his sanctuary, and he found immense joy and freedom flying Cessna airplanes, a pursuit that spoke to his adventurous spirit. His appreciation for the arts was evident in his love for the timeless music of The Beatles, a soundtrack to many of his cherished moments.He possessed a playful side, frequently enjoying trips to the casino where he delighted in playing the slots, approaching the activity with a lightheartedness that valued the fun of the game more than the outcome, whether he won or lost.A true patriarch and host, Caesar, was renowned for his skill at barbecuing, an activity that served as the centerpiece for countless family gatherings. However, his greatest joy was undeniably spending time with his family and friends. He was a natural comedian and storyteller, always quick with a joke or a witty remark, consistently making everyone around him laugh and ensuring their time together was filled with warmth, connection, and indelible memories.He is survived by his beloved wife, Deanna J. Cantu, and their children, Michael (Kristyn) and Julie (KevinHollinger). Caesar also leaves behind seven cherished grandchildren: six granddaughters (Taylor,Peyton, Paige, Lacey, Brooklyn, and Penny) and one grandson (Chase); his siblings: Luis Cantu, Jose H.Cantu (Maria), Mario X. Cantu, Virginia M. Randal, Lynda S. Feeny (Michael), Oliver C. Cantu (Lora), andRaul R. Cantu (Valerie); sisters-in-law(s): Beverly Buchanan, Rhonda Millich (Greg), and Georgia Meyer(Dan); and numerous nieces, nephews, family, and friends.The service will be held on Monday, May 11, 2026, at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home at 777 Oakwood (at141), Fenton MO 63026. Viewing for family members is scheduled from 9-10.a.m, and for all others from10a.m.-12:30p.m. A short military funeral will be held at Jefferson Barracks promptly at 1:30p.m., at 2900 Sheridan Rd., St. Louis MO 63125.
