Brian Lesley Clark
December 3, 1952 - June 24, 2026
Brian Lesley Clark, a beloved husband, father, grandfather, son, brother, brother-in-law, uncle, cousin, and friend, passed away on June 24, 2026, at the age of 73. Born in Sikeston, Missouri, on December 3, 1952, Brian was raised on the family farm in Matthews, Missouri, and made his home in recent years in Fenton, Missouri. He spent his life devoted to the three things he loved most: his family, his God, and his work.
On December 27, 1974, Brian married the love of his love life, Janey Ray (Ludwig) Clark, and together they built a home anchored in faith, hard work, and unconditional love. They raised four sons, Brian took immense pride in each of them.
Growing up on a farm where his family grew cotton, soybeans, and other crops, Brian developed early the drive and dependability that would define him- a gift for solving hard problems and a belief in surrounding himself with great people. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force as a Communications Center Specialist at Malmstrom Air Force Base in Great Falls, Montana, from October 1972 through December 1973, and continued his service in the National Guard until July 1978, earning an honorable discharge. That same dedication carried him to Southeast Missouri State University, where he earned his bachelor's degree in Accounting and soon after passed the CPA exam. Over the course of his career he ventured into telecommunications, internet, and emerging technologies, and in later years became the owner-operator of a financial brokerage firm as well as a founder and board member of a regional bank in Missouri. Amoung friends, colleagues, and associates, he was a true leader-held in the highest esteem and respect.
But for all his professional accomplishments, Brian's greatest pride was his family. He was the cornerstone of the Clark family- the steady heart that held us all together and quietly passed down the values we live by. His humor and levity shined through at just the right moments, part of the magnetism that drew people to him. He was genuine in every way- you always knew exactly where he stood- generous in helping others, and a trusted sounding board. He had a steady, reassuring presence- thoughtful and measured, never quick to judge, and always able to offer a perspective you hadn't considered.
Brian is survived by his loving wife of 51 years, Janey; his four sons, Aaron Clark, Daniel (Lisa) Clark, Benjamin (Kristin) Clark, and Travis (Karen) Clark; his four cherished grandchildren, Kaitlyn, Sydney, and Brennan Clark, and Logan Clark; his sister, Elaine (Robert) Bailey; his brother, Dennis (Renee) Clark, with whom he shared an extraordinarily close bond and spoke nearly every day; and his devoted brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Tom and Chris Ludwig. Having lost his own mother as a young man, Brian treasured the warmth and closeness of the Ludwig family, and the many years of visits and gatherings with them brought him deep and lasting joy. He is also lovingly remembered by countless members of the Clark, McCoy, and Ludwig families, to whom he was a cherished brother, cousin, nephew, uncle, and friend.
Brian was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd Clark and Rachel (McCoy) Clark, and by his beloved mother-in-law, Joyce Ludwig, who he adored immensely.
The family will receive friends for visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Tuesday, June 30, 2026 at South County Baptist Church, 12995 Tesson Ferry Rd., St. Louis, MO 63128, with the funeral service to follow at 11:30 a.m. Burial will take place at Oak Hill Cemetery, 10301 Big Bend Road, Kirkwood, MO 63122.
In lieu of flowers, the family kindly request that memorial contributions be made to the Salvation Army in Brian's memory.
Brian's faith, generosity, and steadfast love will forever remain in the hearts of all who knew him. He will be remembered as a rock for his family, a leader among many, and a man who made everyone around him feel safe, valued, and loved.
