Obituary

Bonnie Amalia Verble, née Querling, 89, passed peacefully into the arms of Jesus on Monday, October 21, 2024. Bonnie was born in Affton, MO on February 23, 1935, daughter of Frederich Querling and Bernice Querling, née Gola. On July 11, 1953, she was united in marriage to Donald Lee Verble of Affton, MO, and six children came to bless this union. Bonnie is survived by her children, Robert Verble, Donna (Tim) Ryan, Deborah (Shelby) Palmer, Wesley (Robin) Verble, Diane (Brian) Dyhouse, and David Verble. Bonnie is also survived by 11 grandchildren and 12 great grandchildren, nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Donald Lee Verble, parents, Frederich Querling and Bernice Querling, mother-in-law, Martha Mabel Verble, sister and brother-in-law, Anna Hagemeier and John Hagemeier, niece, Joan Hagemeier, and daughter-in-law, Vicky Verble. Bonnie accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at an early age and was baptized in Christ at First Baptist Church of Affton, MO. She was an avid member of Ballwin Baptist Church for many years where she loved singing in the choir, and in recent years she became a member of Fellowship of Wildwood in Wildwood, MO where she made many friends. Bonnie worked in various roles at Famous Barr and Macy's in Des Peres, MO and Chesterfield, MO for 44 years before she retired in 2020 and was loved by all who worked with her. Up until recent months, Bonnie enjoyed gathering regularly with her very dear high school friends from Affton High School class of '53. And Bonnie cared deeply about her neighbors of 56 years. Visitation will be at Jay B Smith Funeral Home at 777 Oakwood in Fenton, MO on Thursday, October 31, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. with a service of her life starting at 12:00 p.m. with Pastor Ryan Bowman of Fellowship of Wildwood officiating. Internment will be at Mount Hope Cemetery at 1215 Lemay Ferry Rd. In St. Louis, MO. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Bonnie's name to Global Outreach at Fellowship of Wildwood, 17770 Mueller Rd., Glencoe, MO 63038. The family of Bonnie Verble was served by Jay B Smith Funeral Home in Fenton, MO.
