Obituary

Betty Rosalie Rauls (nee Schuler) passed away on Friday, October 11, 2024, surrounded by her family. Betty, the daughter of Joseph Edward and Lucille Gertrude (nee Sallee) Schuler was born on December 2, 1926, in St Louis, MO. She left high school after several years to be a PBX operator to help support her family. She met Dewey Clifton Rauls, the love of her life in 1946, and they were married on January 25, 1947. Their union produced 6 daughters who were the core of their lives. Although she was a stay-at-home mom, she still was very active. She helped tutor students in reading at Epiphany of Our Lord School, was on several other committees including the Ladies Guild at Epiphany, and also served as the District Girl Scout Cookie Chairman. Betty and Dewey were both involved in Amway in their younger years. She didn't learn to drive until later in life. Her first and favorite car was her orange Dodge Dart with the WAY2GO license plate. She worked at Incarnate Word Hospital as a PBX operator until she finally retired to enjoy spending time with her big family. Betty was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; her brothers, Joseph and John Schuler, and a sister, Nancy Julian. She is survived by her daughters are Jane (Bill) McKenna, Peggy (Steve) Conkle, Pat (Eric) Rauls, JoAnn (Pete) Moore, Cindy Marino and Eileen (Kevin) Wolf. Her grandchildren are Anne Marie (John Paul) Volland, Jeff McKenna, Jill (Greg) Dana, Tim (Kristen) Conkle, Amanda (Steve) DePyper, Maggie Conkle, Lucy (Shawn) Carr, Cameron Wolf, Sam Rauls, Eileen Marino, Ray Wolf, and Simon Wolf. Her great-grandchildren are Cecilia McKenna, Ashton (Kylie) Braun, Parker (Susan) Volland, Rory Volland, Seamus Volland, Claire Dana, Charlie Dana, Taylor Wolf, Rey Conkle, Ben Conkle, Sean Dana, Libby DePyper, Finn McKenna and Josie DePyper. Josephine Volland and Theo Wolf are her great-great-grandchildren. Betty was a loving sister-in-law, aunt, neighbor, and good friend to many.
