Betty Jean Hickey, 75, of Maplewood, MO, passed away on Monday, April 2, 2018. She was born May 17, 1942, in Paw Creek, NC, and married Donald Hickey in St. Louis, MO, on December 13, 1957. Betty is survived by her husband, Donald Hickey of Maplewood, MO; her three daughters, Terry Elizabeth Hrevus (Donald) of Fenton, MO; Kathy Ann McClure (Darin) of High Ridge, MO, and Donna Jean Ernst (Randy) of Sunset Hills, MO; her seven grandchildren Jacob, Tiffany, Matthew, Kandis, Spencer, Nathanael, and Casey; her three great-grandchildren Nathan, Kate, and Baby H.; family she gained along the way including Craig, Jess, and Christopher; and countless friends she considered family. Betty lived a life full of love that she showered on her family and friends. She enjoyed painting and crafting, and spent 30 years working at Michael's, where she considered her colleagues her best friends and "grandchildren." Betty loved to work in her garden and passed her love for flowers, and talents growing and arranging them, on to her family. She also loved to care for all of the animals – or "critters" as she called them – living in her backyard. Betty put passion and energy into everything she did and will be remembered by her family for her humor, work ethic, and – most importantly – her kindness. Per Betty's wishes, there will be no wake or funeral, but her daughters will be hosting an open house Celebration of Life on Saturday, April 7, from 1pm – 6pm. The celebration will be at the Hrevus' home at 11 Elderwood Court, Fenton, MO, 63026. The family welcomes all to join in Betty's Celebration. In lieu of flowers, tribute gifts may be sent to the Wildlife Rescue Center at the following link: https://interland3.donorperfect.net/weblink/weblink.aspx?name=E197432&id=13
