Bertha M King (nee Munro) of Maplewood Mo passed away on Sunday May 24, 2015 at the Manor of Elfindale in Springfield, MO. Bertha was born in Harvey IL and later moved to Licking MO with her parents when she was in High School. It was in Licking that she met her husband, the late Troy D King, Sr. They were united in marriage on November 19th, 1949. From this union, 3 children born. Troy "Delien" (Lynn) of Maplewood MO, Donald (Vicki) King of New Bloomfield MO and Betty (Bill) Nelson of Buffalo, MO. Bertha is also survived by her sister Joyce Welch of Salem, MO and her brother James (Georgia) Munro of Port Richey, FL. Bertha was the grandmother to 7, great grandmother of 12, aunt, cousin and friend to many. Bertha was very active in the Maplewood community that she lived in for 60 years. She loved being with kids and was very involved in scouting through the years, leading both Boy Scout and Girl Scout troops. She won many awards and received many certificates of appreciation from the community and community groups that she helped. She will be missed by many. Services: Visitation 2:00 - 6:00pm on Sunday May 31st at Jay B Smith Funeral home in Maplewood.
