Barbara K. Stegen (nee Young) went home to heaven on June 5, 2020. She left the earth peacefully, surrounded by her loving family. Barb was born on November 6, 1946, in St. Louis, a daughter of Emmons and Thelma Robinson Young. She married her soulmate, Wayne R. Stegen on July 1, 1967 in St. Louis, MO. She was a loving mother to Eric Stegen and Stephanie (Erik) Merker and a cherished grandmother to Mya, Rylen, Brooklyn, and Kameron. She was a dear sister to Terry (Marilyn) Young, Jay (Nancy) Young, and Marsha (Richard) Harrell. Barb was a special mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, niece, cousin, Godmother, and friend to so many. Barb enjoyed her job as an administrative assistant at Maryville University for over 30 years. She never met a stranger and she made everyone in her life feel special. Her laugh was contagious and her joyful smile lit up every room she entered. Barb loved reading, going to the beach, birdwatching, attending musicals, and Christmas time. But she found her greatest joy in her family. If she wasn't with them, she was talking about them. She was especially proud of everything her grandkids did. Barb felt so blessed for the wonderful life that she and Wayne had created. VISITATION: Thursday, June 11th 4:00-8:00 Jay B.
