Barbara "Barb" Selby (née Stout) passed away at 71 years of age on October 28, 2022 in St. Louis after a brief illness. She was surrounded by her family and friends. She is survived by her loving husband of 23 years, Jim Selby; three daughters, Tara (Jason), Jackie (Fred), and Meaghan; grandchildren, Blake, Jake, Brock, Corbin, Maddox, Cayden, MaKayla, Nicholas, and Ella; sister, Jeannie (Ralph); nieces and nephews; and countless friends and family members who loved her. Barb was born in Ironton, MO on February 6th, 1951 to the late Earl Stout Jr. and Dolores Stout (née Graham). She was also preceded in death by her brother Danny Stout and sister Sue Stout Ledbetter. Barb moved to St. Louis in 1969 and began a career that spanned many years in the banking industry, working her way up to Assistant Vice President of investment banking. She loved the St. Louis Cardinals and would attend as many at home games as possible (and even a few out of state). Barb faced many battles with her health over the years, but always faced them with strength and courage. Those who knew her, knew she was a fighter. God decided that she'd had enough, and it was time for her to come home. Our hearts are broken, but we know she is finally at peace. She adored her many grandchildren, family gatherings, Diet Coke, and everything Christmas. She will be greatly missed. Services: Jay B Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Dr. Fenton, MO 63026 on Thursday November 3rd from 4 p.m. - 8 p.m. with a memorial service starting at 7 p.m. A private interment will take place at a later date at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery.
