Patty Helmich, Edward (Kimberly) Veselsky, Kenny Veselsky, and the late Keith Veselsky Special friend of Dennis Armstrong She was a mother-in-law, sister-in-law, aunt, great-aunt, cousin, and friend. She was loved by many and will be deeply missed by all. Barbara was born on Sunday, October 26, 1958 to Edward and Doris Veselsky of St. Louis. She was the 6th born of 10 children that her parents had together. She grew up in south St. Louis on Iowa St. across from St. Thomas of Aquin where she attended grade school until graduation in 1973. After graduation, Barb attended Cleveland High School and was the graduating class of 1977. On September 19, 1981 she married her soulmate, Russell Roberts. This is when they would start their family together and began to create beautiful memories as the Roberts Gang. With this marriage, there was 3 amazing kids, Stephanie, Erin, and Russell. She spent 40 years working for Southwestern Bell until her retirement in June 2016. She had many passions that included cross-stitching, crocheting, and cooking. She would cross-stitch a bride and groom for family members who got married and baby blankets for all new family members. She loved to crochet afghans and slippers for the cold seasons. Every Christmas everyone got warm slippers and one lucky family member got an afghan, everyone hoped mom would pull their name out of the bowl on Thanksgiving. There were many dishes that mom made that we had to have at most family gatherings like her cheese spaghetti, homemade stuffing, green beans and ham, and her chocolate pie. She was the best cook there was. Her favorite title of them all was Grammy. She loved all her grandchildren more than anything in this world. She had 7 beautiful "grandbabies" as she would say, even though some are not babies anymore. To her, they were her babies forever. She had a 10 year fight with cancer and she is now out of pain and our guardian angel forever. We would like to thank St. Luke's Hospital for providing mom with the absolute best care during her times there. All her amazing nurses and her Dr's., Dr. Haskell, Dr. Ettinger, Dr. Rana, and Dr. Edwards. Memorials can be made to American Lung Association www.lung.org
