Obituary

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of our sister and aunt, Amy Louise Childrey, who peacefully left us on February 9, 2025, at the age of 66 years. She was surrounded by family and love. In many ways, Amy's passing is bittersweet. While we mourn our loss, she is finally free of body and mind that never let her truly live her life. She is now reunited with loving parents, Warren and Darlis Childrey and she will meet her brother, Phillip Childrey. We take comfort in knowing that they were waiting for her with open arms in Heaven, ready to embrace her once more. She is survived by her siblings: Jeffrey Childrey, Theresa (Chris) Gabel, Jackie McBroom, and Janet (Greg) Bast; her nieces and nephews: Eric (Nancy) Childrey, Jennifer Childrey, Vanessa Hamblen, Amy Childrey, David Childrey, Amanda (Justin) Pratt, Jeremy Bast, and Brian Bast; and her long term care giver: Vivian Webb. Though her passing leaves an irreplaceable void in our hearts, we take solace in her ability to start the next journey. Her spirit will live on in the stories we tell, the memories we hold, and the love we pass down through the generations. Amy will forever remain with us, as a part of us all. No flowers please, due to family members with allergies. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made in Amy's name to either St. Jude or Ronald McDonald House. Services Saturday Feb. 15, 2025 at Jay B Smith Funeral Home, Maplewood, 7456 Manchester Rd., 12:30 PM. Visitation Saturday Feb. 15th, Jay B Smith Maplewood, 10:30-12:30.
