Gomez Jr., 76, passed away on Tuesday, January 24, 2023 in Fenton, MO surrounded by his loving family. Beloved husband of Velia Gomez (nee) Villalobos; Dear son of Adolfo Gomez Sr and Luz Gomez of San Antonio, Texas; Loving Father of Monica (Dean) Gallagher of O'Fallon, Missouri; Loving Father of Vanessa (Patrick) Blair of Pevely, Missouri; Cherished Grandfather of Quinn Gallagher, Madeline Blair, Liam Gallagher, Olivia Blair, Katelyn Blair, and Oscar Blair; Dear Brother of Alicia (Albert) Reyna, Carol (Martin) Reyes, Richard (Minnie) Gomez, Mary Jane (Juan) Rodriguez, Sylvia Gomez, Sally (Joe) Trevino, Carmen (Jesse) Ornales, Pearl Cruz, Martin (Hopie) Gomez, Frank (Mary Ruth) Gomez, Sandy (Jami) Barsenas, preceded in Death by his brothers Steve Gomez, George Gomez, and sister Martha Palacio; Dear Brother-In-Law of Carmen Davis (nee) Villalobos, Elvira (Gilbert) Luna (nee) Villalobos, Jesus (Lorena) Villalobos, Angie Vanegas (nee) Villalobos, Rudolfo (Cathy) Villalobos. Preceded in death by his brothers-in-law Eliseo Villalobos, Augustine Villalobos Jr., John Villalobos, Michael Villalobos, and Harold Davis; Dear Uncle to many nieces and nephews. Dear friend and colleague to many. Adolfo was born and raised in San Antonio, Texas. He is the oldest son of Adolfo Gomez, Sr and Luz Gomez. He was a devoted Catholic. Adolfo married Velia, the love of his life on April 27, 1968. He later moved to St. Louis due to a career advancement that would benefit his family. This shows his dedication to the well-being of his family. Adolfo always put others' needs before his own. He cherished his two daughters and always attended their events. He was equally, if not more, smitten with his grandchildren. Adolfo had a wonderful heart and spirit. He was always willing to provide love and support to his many friends and colleagues. He was equally caring and loving to his family's friends and colleagues. Everyone he met was a friend instantly. He never judged and always saw the best in everyone. He was always quick with a witty comment and could always create a smile despite the circumstances. Adolfo will be missed by all. Visitation will be, Thursday, February 2, 2023 from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Jay B. Smith Funeral Homes Fenton Chapel 777 Oakwood Dr. Fenton, MO 63026 Funeral Mass will be at Sacred Heart Catholic Church 17 Ann Ave. Valley Park, MO 63088 on Friday, February 3, 2023 at 10:00 A.M. Interment to follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery with Full Military Honors
