Mary L Colyer

April 28, 1931 - January 26, 2020

Mary L Colyer Mary age 88, of Glasgow Village was called to her heavenly home January 26, 2020 surrounded by her family. She was born April 28, 1931 in St Louis, eldest daughter of Walter and Mary Dehas. She married Warren Lee Colyer on May 28, 1951 in Pocahontas, Arkansas. They moved into their Glasgow Village home in the late 50’s and watched it as it was being built. She is survived by her only daughter, Patricia Sievers (Myron) of Imperial, Mo. 2 Granddaughters, Melissa Lewis (Jeffrey) of Edwardsville, IL, and Kimberly Haring of Aurora, CO, and 4 Great-Grandchildren, Anthony and Elizabeth Haring, Roy and Carolynn Lewis. In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by her brother, Robert Dehas (Elrene), and sisters Dorthy Talmage (Robert), and Louise Reed (Vernon). Mary was an avid member and past President of the Starcraft Camper Club, past President of the Bellefontaine Neighbors Senior Citizens Club, and President of the local Italian Club. She loved to spend time playing Bingo and Bunco, with her many friends. Mary traveled to 48 of 50 US States, which included Alaska and Hawaii as well as visiting Canada and Mexico. Mary enjoyed her many dogs, was an excellent cook, artist, and seamstress. Mary always put others first before herself. Family and friends may call, Thursday, January 30th, 2020 at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, Fenton, MO from 9:30-11:30am. Service will be from 11:30-12:00pm with Pastor Lisa Guilliams and Mike Rayson of Thrive Church officiating. Burial will follow at Jefferson Barracks, where she will be laid to rest with her beloved husband Warren. In lieu of flowers donations can be made to the Humane Society, or the American Heart Association.
