Box 125 Wildwood, MO 63040 Loraine was born in Okawville, IL to Olinda and Walter Krohne. When she was 5, her family moved to Nashville Ave in St. Louis where her father began working for St. Louis Dairy. She spent her entire childhood in this home, where she had fond memories of playing in the neighbors backyards or in the street in front of her house. She attended Dewey School near the Hi-Point Theatre and attended Southwest High School. She always wanted to be a secretary, so upon graduation she went to work at the Union Biscuit Co as a secretary. She met her beloved, Bud, when her friend, Lorene, invited her to join her at Christ Church where she attended Confirmation classes. Many years and friendships were grown through their community and service at Christ Church. Their love blossomed and they were married in 1946. Her served overseas during World War II and Loraine missed him terribly. They were blessed to have two amazing children, Robert and Lynda Jean. There were a very close knit family. Many days were spent shopping together (an added bonus when Loraine and Lynda wore the same size shoe), doing puzzles, and playing with the Model train in the basement. They took amazing family trips together and really were the best parents ever. They never failed their kids. Bud was diagnosed with MS in 1961. They didn't let this diagnosis slow them down and made the most of their 37 years of marriage. They were devoted, loving parents, hosted parties, traveled, and always made time for friends. Loraine was a loving caregiver for him until he passed away in 1983. She worked for Deaconess hospital for 28 years. Her secret to staying young at heart was to surround herself with happy people. She was lucky to have a plethora of wonderful friends, both young and old, to keep her young. Whether she was traveling with New Experience, volunteering at the Gift Shop or Feed my People, enjoying time with her Secret Pal group, or in her later years meeting with her Steak n Shake Crew; she loved to be around people. She was always happy and had a smile on her face. She was adventurous at heart and loved to travel, play games, shop, volunteer and eat out. Loraine was a devoted grandma and great grandma. She loved being at their activities and spending time with them. Those who knew Loraine, know she loved her family fiercely and her friends deeply. She was a beautiful wife, mom, grandma, great grandma and friend and she will be missed greatly by all who were fortunate enough to know her. She had a long, beautiful life and made the most of her 95 years here on Earth. We're thankful that she's at peace now in the arms of Jesus, made whole and reunited with her Bud.
