John “Kevin” Dark May 8 1958 - March 1 2019 Survived by sister Kimberly Brady of St. Louis, MO; and brothers John Eric Dark of Walnut Creek, California; And Christopher Paul Dark of Woodland, California. Predeceased by both father and mother; John Joseph Dark of Hawaii. Dorothy (Nee) Nicks of St. Louis, MO, and brother Kent Roberts. A graduate of the University of Missouri, he spent over 30 years in the professional lawn care industry. Owning and operating 3 regional companies from Massachusetts to Virginia Beach, Virginia, as well as offices in St. Louis before selling them to his largest competitors. His proudest accomplishment was the co-founding of Nutrients Plus, a company providing solutions converting organic wastes into a fertilizer for the professional golf, sports turf markets; as well as home products. It is now the leader in the industry. He is proud of his partner, brother and friend John Moriarty. Kevin’s hobbies and passions were reading & writing, Florida travel, (always in search of the perfect retirement spot.] and Cardinal baseball. He had finally believed things had all come together to split his life between St. Louis and Florida. [He recently had a condo under contract and was looking forward to renovating it into, his “one particular harbor”.] His reading and writing hobby had taken wings, he was published in several magazines, had been included in several short story anthologies, and had two published books of short stories as well as a novel, not bad. All under cover of the clever pen name of J.K. Dark. The moral of this obituary, savor each day. Plagiarizing from Jimmy Buffett; “Some of it’s magic, some of it’s tragic, but I’ve had a good life all the way.” The family asks in lieu of flowers and gifts, a donation be made to the Muscular Dystrophy Association. A private ceremony is being planned in Florida at a later date. Much love to my wonderful group of family and friends. Each of you, special to me in a unique way. Adios for now ~JKD
