George William Doerr III

March 25, 1953 - May 4, 2021

George William Doerr, III from St. Louis,MO , born on March 25, 1953, went into the arms of Jesus on Tuesday, May 4, 2021. Beloved husband of Cathy Doerr (nee Rickard). Dear son of the late George W. Doerr Jr. and Melba Doerr. Loving father of George W. Doerr IV, daughter-in-law Catherine Doerr, and his baby girl Angela Doerr. Cherished Grandpa Choo-Choo of George W. Doerr V, Anthony Doerr and James T Doerr. Dear brother of Lynda (Carol) Russell, Darlene Doerr, Cheryl Stotts, Sue (Tom) Barnowski, Martin Doerr, Donny (Jeannie) Doerr, Bob (June) Doerr, Jill (Joseph) Rash, John Doerr and Chris (Tina) Doerr. George is a beloved brother-in-law, uncle, cousin and friend to many. George, Dad, Sweetheart, Number 3, Grandpa Choo-Choo, Sonny, Poo-Poo Butt, and probably a few that shouldn’t be mentioned. These are the legacies he leaves behind. George grew up in South St. Louis. He graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1971. George and Cathy got married in the summer of ‘73. Then they had two awesome kids. George enjoyed watching and singing along to Elvis movies. Nothing made him happier then playing trains with his grandsons and getting to see them grow up. He loved traveling, when he could, and playing board games with his crazy family. George was always there when people needed him and he will be missed by all. Visitation on Saturday, May 8, 2021 from 2-3:00pm at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Dr., Fenton, MO 63026. Service at 3:00pm In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial donations to the National Kidney Foundation and American Diabetes Association.
