Karen S. Parker (nee Payton), 68, of Fenton, MO went home to be with Jesus on Monday, June 3, 2013 after a long struggle with cancer. She is the beloved wife of Stephen M. Parker, Sr. Dear daughter of the late William and Edna Payton. Loving mother of Tina Mueller of Barnhart, MO, Stephen, Jr. (Lisa) Parker of St. Louis, MO, Bruce Parker of Waco, TX and Philip (Heather) Parker of Catawissa, MO. Cherished grandmother of Jeremy, Andrew, Morgan, Joshua, Caleb, Seth, Jared, Cordell, Quentin and Alexander. Dear sister of Laurel (Dennis Fonod) Payton of Fenton, MO, Willette (Ronald) Roberds of House Springs, MO and the late Eugene Payton and Anna Ferguson. Karen lived her life as a testimony of the joy of Jesus Christ. She believed the way she lead her life was the best way of witnessing to everyone she met. She felt you could tell people about the grace of God but it was better to live and lead by example daily of what the Lord can do for you. Now she did love to tell stories as well especially when she was beating you at a board game. And by the way, she always won. She was a prankster and a tease, so you never knew what to expect. She loved playing piano and singing hymns at home and at Calvary Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church where she was a long time devoted member. Karen had a special place in her heart for all God's children, especially those in need. She spent countless hours crocheting hats for premature babies and blankets for them as well. She would donate them to the Children's Hospital. Karen also made hundreds of blankets which she would donate to the Home for Foster Children. To her this was one way she could help her fellow man that is what a true Christian is all about. Funeral services will be held at Calvary Fellowship Freewill Baptist Church in Fenton, MO on Thursday, June 6, 2013 at 10:00am. Interment Mt. Hope Cemetery, St. Louis, MO. Visitation will on Wednesday from 4:00pm to 8:00pm at Jay B. Smith Funeral Home, 777 Oakwood Dr, Fenton, MO. Memorials to the American Cancer Society appreciated.
