Military Funeral Honors Program
The rendering of Military Funeral Honors for deceased members of the United States Armed Forces is a tribute that our nation's veterans rightly deserve. In 1998 legislation was signed into law providing the resources for such a program, to be conducted by the Missouri National Guard, to provide military honors for all Missouri Veterans.
The Director of the Military Funeral Honors Program will coordinate the services to be provided, through you local Funeral Director. Should you desire to honor your loved one in this manner, you will be given the necessary information.
What types of Military Funeral Honors are available?
Depending on availability, the following honors can be rendered to a deceased veteran.
- Four Member Detail:
Four Service Representatives will render honors, fire volleys, sound taps, fold the flag and present the flag to the next of kin. - Two Member Detail:
Two Service Representatives will render honors, fold the flag and present they flag to the next of kin. - Certified Veteran's Organization Detail:
Veteran's Organization Representatives can render honors, fire volleys, sound taps, fold the flag and present the flag to the next of kin.
