Grief is the result of intense emotional suffering that is caused by loss and acute sorrow. Grieving is the normal process by which we respond to the losses sustained in life. Grieving helps us adjust and begin moving on with our own life. Listed below are recognized stages of grief.

SHOCK is nature's way of insulating and cushioning us when we suffer a loss. There may be odd feelings, no appetite, and irrational thoughts. Phsyical symptoms may be trembling hands, loss of voice, stomach ulcer, headaches, fait or weak feelings.
Shock should begin to wear off in hours...days...weeks. To comfort someone suffering emotional shock, just being their friend, holding their hand, and helping with chores will help them get through this difficult time.
