Born in Brentwood and also lived in Webster and Maplewood;
Brother of Syl and Al Beletz;
Long time officer of the Legion of Mary and Knights of Columbus;
Lifetime member and officer of The American Legion and V.F.W.;
Co-author of two books on canoeing and helped start the Old Meramec Canoe Club and Canoe Poling as an official sport of the American Canoe Association;
He was a pilot with brothers and 40 year member of the Funk Flyers Association and Thermaleers;
Earned the Bronze Star plus 8 Battle Stars with Oak Clusters with the 454th B-24 Bomb Group from Africa and Italy in WWII and Korea;
Our brother-in-law, uncle and great uncle of the Guenthers, O'Briens and Sizemores;
Funeral Wed. February 3, 10am Memorial Mass at Immaculate Conception Maplewood, with interment Jeffeson Barracks Cemetery;
A memorial tribute and Irish-Of-The- Balkens Gathering Wed. 6:30-9:00pm at the Parish hall;
